Last year, poker machines took more than $110 million from Tasmanian suburbs.
That is $110 million that would have otherwise been spent in the community – boosting local economies and creating more jobs.
Right now, Tasmania has the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to phase out poker machines from pubs and clubs and confine them to casinos.
It’s time to take action and free our suburbs from pokies.
SARC’s new interactive map (left) shows every pub, club and hotel in Tasmania that has poker machines, as well as giving an overview of each of the five electorates. Click on it to explore.
We want you to be a part of a movement:
- Sign the open letter
- Write to your local Liberal politician or candidate and call for tri-partisan support for removing pokies from pubs and clubs
- Share the below maps across Tasmania
- If you are door-knocked by a politician or candidate, tell them you want poker machines out of local suburbs
